Pascale

I have been married to Mark for eight years. He is a pilot – so Kate he would be envious of your daughter as that would have been so awesome for him to have been able to fly in the military for a while, but he didn’t get into the SAAF here. As mentioned – we have two gorgeous little girls – I will post the photos on the blogsite. I had a couple of romances etc. and one big one where I was hopelessly in love (also a pilot – must have a thing for men in uniforms) only to be dumped for an airhostess – so I’m trying not to hate them too much – I’m much better now!! Mark and I started dating a few months later and the rest is history as they say!

Before then – gosh – straight out of school I had no clue what I wanted to do and ended up going to varsity doing computer science, maths and economics!!! – all of which I hated – but didn’t know what else to do – so stuck with it. After that I went to Holland for a year (my family is Dutch) but didn’t enjoy it one bit – the weather, the people, the bureaucracy and red tape (the Dutch are another bunch let me tell you) and I split up with my then German boyfriend. Looking back, I wish I had rather gone back-packing! I came back to SA and studied some more for lack of knowing what I wanted to do. I then worked as a consultant at Accenture (then Anderson Consulting) for 3 years and didn’t enjoy the culture and so moved into lecturing Information Systems at Midrand University for 4 years. There I realized that I loved the lecturing but was so not passionate about the subject and I’m not good at bullshitting – so moved into soft skills (EQ stuff) training and just loved it!!! So I still do that plus I started doing life and executive coaching 3 years ago and absolutely love that too. I’ve definitely found my niche there. So – so much for computer science and maths hey?!! I think I will always be a bit of a life long student – I still do courses and stuff – but all in the areas that I love – people skills, metaphysics and self development.

I don’t do anymore swimming – sadly – but am thinking of starting again to keep fit – just where to fit it all in, in this crazy rushed world of ours and as I’m sure those of you with kids will know – they also demand so much of your time! As for Nicole – she would probably beat me by miles now as she is very active at gym and swims quite a bit!

We are still in Jhb but are moving down to the coast at the end of the year. Up until a week ago it was the Durban North Coast – but now we are also considering a place outside of PE that my hubby has fallen in love with. So we’ll see.
